Our main goal is to enable residents to place important issues on the ballot

for residents to vote on,

as we did on Cheval Blanc.

We also oppose overdevelopment

and deceptive actions

by city staff and elected officials.

They say you can't fight city hall.  But Residents Against Overdevelopment fought city hall and won when the city council's approval of the monolithic Cheval Blanc Hotel was placed on the ballot for residents to decide.  The city council majority's approval of the Cheval Blanc project was overturned by resident voters with the help and donations of many residents.

â€‹â€‹To get something placed on the ballot for residents to vote on, approximately 3,000 residents' signatures must be gathered in about 30 days. A union did most of the expensive heavy lifting on gathering signatures to place Cheval Blanc on the ballot.  We are not likely to be that fortunate next time so we need to organize so we will be able to undertake such a task ourselves, inexpensively and expeditiously.

Our Confidential Referendum Registry contains contact information for residents who will be ready to consider signing a referendum petition to place an issue on the ballot, so we will be able to notify residents and collect signatures quickly and inexpensively.
